About

My Name is Michael Kenneth Sander

I’ve been working with digital media since 2005. Primarily with non-linear video editing and digital video production. I spent six years working with Final Cut Pro. Then, beginning mid 2012, I adopted the Adobe creative suite. Since then I have become proficient with Lightroom, Adobe Camera Raw, Photoshop, Premier Pro, And After Effects. I worked in these programs a great deal, on a daily bases wile working at Home Video Studio in Fairfax, VA. 2010-2012. I still spend anywhere between 30-45 hours a week working in Adobe’s Creative suite for my own personal and commissioned projects. Whether it be still or moving images, I consider myself a skilled camera operator and a student of “exposure theory”, using the knowledge, abilities, and techniques I have accumulated over years of on location experience, to capture the desired composition and render the best image possible.

I once read “the soul of every piece of work you create desires to be displayed.” no matter the conscious intentions of the creator at the time of creation, the piece of work has a message to be passed on, and desires to convey it. Perhaps this message is specific to each observer. To me this would be a true success. Perhaps the piece sparks a curious debate among friends. To me this would be a true success. None the less observation is what brings a piece of work to life, gives it potential. This is true with any element of digital composition. Granted, not every composition will be The Birth of Venus, in fact there more than likely will never be one defining piece that will cement your style and claim its place as your “masterpiece”. That is not to say that each piece does not deserve its place in which it may be observed. Even that album of travel photos, or the memorial service video, promotional video, composite photography, basic logo graphics animation ect. if any of these elements imparts one iota of conscious contemplation, one spark of creative technical inspiration, to me this would be a true success.

I love doing the work that I do, And will try just about anything when it comes to the creative process. It’s what keeps my creative flame roaring, the possibilities. The desire to continually improve, never recognizing a limit or a boundary which confines the realm of conceivable.
